Lucian Rodriguez Lovell is a Naarm-based mixed reality researcher, virtual environment designer, and industry fellow in the RMIT Games Program.
Lucian’s studio-based teaching centres around contemporary issues in the digital design field, such as MR digital twinning, IoT, and latent AI technologies. His technical teaching aligns students with current industry demands, including the recent integration of Unreal Engine into the Games Program.
Recently Lucian has worked on two exploratory Virtual Reality Research projects, “BeeScapes” with Dr Alan Nguyen, and “The Door in Question” with Dr Troy Rainbow.
Lucian’s current practice-based research projects include “The Dark Forest” with Dr Tom Penney and Caleb Noller, an interactive art game, to feature in acmi audience lab. Lucian is also working on a digital installation project “Beautiful Games in Ugly Spaces” with Prof Deb Polson and Prof Fabio Zambetta, activating ugly spaces around Melbourne with digital infrastructure.
